159412/02/1612/02/1612Basketball NI FeesBasketball NI collects fees for clubs and players registered on the BI systems. Basketball NI invoice each club for the players that have been registered. Basketball NI do not charge for technical positions and volunteers such as coaches and table officials. The prices for the 2015-16 season can be found below: £30 Club £20 Senior Men £16 Senior Women £12 U14 – U18 players Free U12* *Note that U12 players are free to register and play however, if they play in higher age groups such as U14 competitions they will be subject to a £12 fee.

Club and Player Registrations All clubs and players must be registered with Basketball Ireland in order to be eligible to enter into Basketball NI competitions. Those players who register before 01/11/2015 will be eligible for free insurance for the rest of the season. Click on the link to be taken to Basketball Ireland’s registration system. This system is responsible for player and club registrations. BI has created a step-by-step guide on using the system. Players registered with Basketball Ireland will have a unique player ID which must be presented at each competition. Any team fielding a player without an ID will automatically loose the game and have a fine levied against them. All ID’s will be checked either during a game or by the Competitions Committee after the score sheets have been submitted. Technical Registrations Basketball Ireland also require that table officials, referees and coaches are registered via their Sports Pulse system. 158408/02/1608/02/163Cup and Plate Finals In the New Foyle Arena this weekendThe first competition of the BNI calendar is coming to it’s climax as the cup and plate semi-finals and finals are in the new Foyle Arena in Derry homeUU-Final of North Star Basketball Club who are one of the teams that have managed to make the semi-finals of the cup and are playing last year’s play-off champions Kilkeel Knights. The plate semi-finals are have a wide range of teams, BC Wolves are a new team who are fighting for top spot in D2 are playing the Tyrone Towers who have been one of the core clubs in the BNI community over the last decade and are competing in D1, while Andersonstown Tigers seconds have the task of playing a premier league team in UU Elks who got knocked-out in a surprise loss in the first round of the cup to be put in the plate.
